Get 7 Tech Goofs Agents Do That Makes Them Lose Time, Money and Business: Click here
Why I no longer recommend iXact contact. Find out. iXact is a CRM that I was recommending if Agents didn’t want to use Realty Juggler. (My Fav). Until something happened with a client of mine.
He was set up to sync with Google (You know I always recommend having a Google G-Suite account right?) and he had 8 years of adding properties to his contact database. He was finding that he had a ton of duplicate contacts so in Google there is an option to ‘merge duplicates’. Sounds great right?
Well, it is great if you are a Realty Juggler user but not an iXact user. This wiped out ALL properties attached to his contacts. Here is the conversation with iXact support below but two things come to mind:
1. I definitely know stuff happens, you accidentally do something to your database and you want to restore it back from that point, right? Can’t do that with iXact. You get duplicate contacts over time and want to ‘easily’ click a button to merge them…nope you can’t, you must MANUALLY fix duplicates. What?
2. Read below and consider a move to Realty Juggler like my client just did but if you do stay with iXact please do a manual export weekly so that IF this happens to you at least your data can be recovered.
"We take nightly backups to ensure that we mitigate the risk of data loss, however we don't really keep catalogued backups or store the backup data in a way that it would allow us to roll back specific contacts in an account to a specific date.
Unfortunately you would need to manually update these contacts back to the information you had in their profile previously. There is no automatic process we can run on our end that would do be able to do this."

"We do perform backups of our CRM databases every night to a location that is external our data centre, and we maintain each back for one month’s time.
However, the purpose of these backups is to protect us and our customers against a catastrophic event that would compromise the data of all our customers. The purpose of these backups is not to allow us to restore an individual customer’s data to a point in time. Since our databases store customer data across thousands of users, restoring a single customer’s data to its original state from a backup is not something we are able to do. I honestly don’t know of a cloud-based hosted software as a service provider that is able to do what you are asking for.
I sincerely apologize for this, but unfortunately we are unable to fulfill your request."
