What an Email Address say about REALTORS®? Your image as a Real Estate professional is very important. It takes a lot of years to build your profile, be known and improve yourself to be better in what you do every single year! But a taint of small things like choosing the right email address may harm you without you knowing it. Well, you may say that an email address is rarely noticeable, it speaks a lot about you and serves a higher purpose, especially for your new clients. So here are ways for you to guarantee your reputation is well taken care of.
1. Stop using provider email addresses. Sure, you may have been given a free account from Telus or Rogers but in 2017 using these types of email addresses are the worst! The fact that you are marketing for them by using their email address is already a big NO. Also, when you say, change internet providers, you’ll lose access to that email address, too. Not a wise business move.
2. Still using Shaw, Google or Yahoo email addresses? Although these email providers are well-known, you are still advertising for them and not yourself when you send emails using their services. Using a @gmail.com, @yahoo.com, @telus.com domains won’t give you that much of an impact. Anybody can create these email addresses so save them for your Netflix subscription!
3. Using your brokerage email? You may be part of this awesome brokerage that’s known worldwide and allows you to attract potential clients. But think ahead if you are going to use their email address. What if you decide to leave the company and move to a different brokerage? Nothing is constant so consider that possibility. If ever that happens, your email address– along with your contacts are gone! That could be a disaster!
4. Market your own brand using an email address that is YOU! To generate better returns, use an email address that speaks volumes – like your name or the company you run! Nobody can take that away from you for sure. Plus, it makes your emails look more professional, thus creating a lasting impression. Consider using Google’s G-Suite and you can setup your own domain and act like you’re running an empire, check it out here.
