How can you make Video work for you? You cannot deny how popular video is! Most social media platforms offer the capability to do live videos, record videos, add stories and so much more. But how can you make video work for you? There's a number of ways that you can do to further increase your reach to your target audience and also for you to look credible. If you aren't comfortable in front of the camera, here are a few tips to loosen you up!
1. Rehearse. Even if you are doing a Live video for your audience to see, it's always best to do the video prepared. Rehearsing the content you want to discuss ahead of time or even write a script or do up cue cards that you can follow along while you are live so you don't just keep on rambling without a proper flow. The first 20 seconds of your video matters so people will keep watching you!
2. Audio Quality needs to be pristine. No matter how good the message you are trying to say and how great you deliver it, if your audience won't hear you clearly, then it's going to be your downfall. Think if you're the one watching a video with poor audio quality, would you continue listening? To help your message come across and make you more engaging, do your videos in a quiet environment with the best mic / audio system you can find.
3. Video Transcripts is a must. With most users on mobile, some value their privacy very much that they don't want other people to hear or see what they are actually watching. Consider someone who doesn't have headphones on a train and sees your video, interested to watch but is hindered by the loud phone speaker. Consider adding video transcripts - most people don't watch videos with sound so it's a great way to convey your message for these types of users.
4. Interact Digitally. If somebody asks a question when you are live, please don't forget to acknowledge and answer their question. It's important that you follow-through with your audience. If you created a video and posted it, be sure to check back in a few hours, in a few days to check if somebody left a comment. COMMENT as much as possible and don't forget to share your video on all your social media platforms, too. If you are doing email marketing, then that's another way to share your content. Don't waste hours rehearsing and doing video and you don't make good use of it. Re-purpose it everywhere!
