This happened recently to a friend of mine and sadly she didn't have the right things enabled on the phone, so it has prompted me to review with everyone again. PLEASE DO THIS!
1. Make sure you have the "Find Your Phone" app installed and enabled.
Learn how the app or program works BEFORE you need to actually find your phone for real! All these apps require certain things to be enabled on your device, know your id and password to the program/app and test how it works! Hopefully if you ever lose your device you just logon on to the right website and click find and it will tell you where it is, make a loud sound, lock or put a message on the home screen to call you at home!
2. So maybe you didn't do the above but you will now! Call your carrier immediately to report it lost. They will put a flag on the account and IF someone actually found and sold your device it won't work. Or maybe someone will try and find who happens to own the phone.
3. Some wireless devices have the ability to have a message on the lock screen that you can put your contact info (not your mobile device number!) in case it is found. This is a really good idea to do.
Thoughts? What have you done if your device has ever been lost or stolen?
